Schumpeter (1883-1950)
 
Austriac de nationalitate americana. Unul dintre cei mai
prestigiosi si influenti economisti ai secolului douazeci. Este un erudit in
istoria gandirii economice. 
 
Studiaza ciclurile si sistemele economice. Chiar daca
profesorii sai (Böhn-Bawerk) apartineau scolii
austriace, evolueaza de-a lungul vietii, devenind keynesist, iar in finalul
vietii, influentat de marxism, prezice caderea sistemului capitalist si trecerea
la socialism.
