RESUMEN

El presente trabajo de investigación de orden descriptivo analiza a través de la planeación estratégica, el ambiente profesional en el que se desenvuelven los guías de turismo del Departamento de Santander y los retos que enfrentan de acuerdo con las tendencias del mercado, así como, a los nuevos conocimientos que requieren aprender para mejorar la calidad y competitividad del destino. Los resultados del presente estudio constituyen información básica para la toma de decisiones en el mejoramiento profesional y la colaboración participativa del sector turismo de acuerdo a la normativa aplicable, asimismo, puede tomarse en cuenta para el desarrollo de políticas públicas que mejoren los esquemas de acreditación, regulación y evaluación del gremio de la guianza.

ABSTRACT

ANALYSIS AND PERSPECTIVE OF THE PROFESSIONALIZATION OF THE TOURISM GUIDES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SANTANDER, COLOMBIA

This descriptive research work analyzes, through strategic planning, the professional environment in which the tourism guides of the Department of Santander operate and the challenges they face according to market trends, as well as the new knowledge they need to learn in order to improve the quality and competitiveness of the touristic site.

The results of this study constitute basic information for decision making in the professional improvement and participative partnership of the tourism sector, according to the applicable norms. Likewise, it can be taken into account for the development of public policies that improve the accreditation, regulation and evaluation schemes of the guidance guild.
