RESUMEN
Existen educandos que muestran dificultades para expresar, comprender, compartir, regular, controlar determinados procesos psicológicos, lo que con frecuencia incide de manera negativa en el rendimiento escolar, en el aprendizaje y principalmente en el desarrollo integral de su personalidad. Las dificultades en el aprendizaje constituyen uno de los grandes problemas de la educación de todos los tiempos. Por tanto, el perfeccionamiento de las categorías diagnósticas, y el empleo de la terminología actualizada y en correspondencia con la clasificación internacional, con énfasis en el Retardo en el Desarrollo Psíquico (RDP) constituye un paso más de avance.

THEORETICAL SYSTEMATIZATION FOR THE CHANGE OF THE DIAGNOSTIC CATEGORY DELAY IN PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT
ABSTRACT
There are students who show difficulties to express, understand, share, regulate, control certain psychological processes, which often has a negative impact on school performance, learning and mainly on the integral development of their personality. Identifying them is not only a matter of observing them over time and finding that they present particular attributes that prevent them from taking advantage of a regular schooling, but also of analyzing their own knowledge, attitudes and values that are possessed when seeing them and that in some way will influence the decisions made in this regard. Learning difficulties are one of the great educational problems of all time. Therefore, the improvement of the diagnostic categories, and the use of updated terminology and in correspondence with the international classification, with emphasis on the Delay in Psychic Development (RDP) constitutes a further step forward.
