RESUMEN
Este trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo el análisis del uso por parte del capital humano de organizaciones educativas y de investigación de un Repositorio Institucional. Se realiza un análisis sociodemográfico, se analiza el conocimiento de la existencia del Repositorio Institucional, los criterios de búsqueda más utilizados para recuperar información, de los diferentes tipos de documentos que contiene un RI, además de la visibilidad, usabilidad y citación. La metodología es de enfoque cuantitativo, el tipo de estudio exploratorio y descriptivo. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó un cuestionario con 32 preguntas, con una muestra de 602 participantes de estudiantes, docentes e investigadores de centros de investigación y universidades públicas y privadas de la zona norte de México, encontrando como resultado que su visibilidad es baja ya que no se encuentra en la página principal del instituto de investigación, de que se conoce muy poco de su existencia, por lo tanto es poco usado.

ABSTRACT
This research work aims to analyze the use by human capital of educational and research organizations of an Institutional Repository. A sociodemographic analysis is performed, the knowledge of the existence of the Institutional Repository, the most used search criteria to retrieve information, of the different types of documents that an IR contains, as well as visibility, usability and citation are analyzed. The methodology is a quantitative approach, the type of exploratory and descriptive study. For the data collection, a questionnaire with 32 questions was used, with a sample of 602 participants from students, teachers and researchers from research centers and public and private universities in the north of Mexico, finding as a result that their visibility is low since It is not found on the main page of the research institute, of which very little is known its existence, therefore it is little used.
