RESUMEN

La docencia es una de las profesiones de riesgo para padecer síndrome de burnout (BO), que es un conjunto de síntomas que se desarrollan por el estrés laboral. Un campo que se está estudiando actualmente para la prevención y tratamiento de este síndrome es el uso de la inteligencia emocional (IE). El objetivo principal de este trabajo es conocer el nivel de IE y BO en docentes de Enfermería de la Universidad de Vigo. En cuanto a la metodología es un estudio cuantitativo, transversal y descriptivo. Se desarrolló en las 4 escuelas de Enfermería de la Universidad de Vigo, que cuentan con 103 docentes, de los que se obtuvo una muestra de 29 docentes. Los datos se obtuvieron de una encuesta realizada a través de Google formularios, que fue realizada entre marzo y abril de 2020. Las variables dependientes (IE y BO) se obtuvieron de los test validados TMMS-24 y MBI-ES. Las variables independientes se agruparon en sociodemográficas, de formación y laborales. Resultados: mujeres 18 (62,1%), titulados en Enfermería 17 (58,6%), titulados en Medicina 5 (17,3%). Percepción emocional =26,59; claridad emocional =30,13; reparación emocional =31,55. Agotamiento emocional =11,59; despersonalización =1,82; realización personal =38,69. Se concluye que el nivel de IE de la población encuestada en este estudio es adecuado, destacando la dimensión de reparación emocional como la más positiva y la percepción emocional como la menos positiva. Respecto al BO la mayoría tiene un nivel bajo, siendo la realización personal la dimensión con más margen de mejora.

ABSTRACT

Teaching is one of the risk professions for suffering from Burnout Syndrome (BO), which is a set of symptoms that develop due to work stress. One field that is currently being studied for the prevention and treatment of this syndrome is the use of Emotional Intelligence (EI). The main objective of this work is to know the level of EI and BO in Nursing teachers at the University of Vigo. Regarding the methodology, it is a quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive study. It was developed in the 4 Nursing schools of the University of Vigo, which have 103 teachers, from which a sample of 29 teachers was obtained. The data were obtained from a survey carried out through Google forms, which was carried out between March and April 2020. The dependent variables (EI and BO) were obtained from the validated tests TMMS-24 and MBI-ES. The independent variables were grouped into sociodemographic, training and employment. Results: 18 women (62.1%), 17 Nursing graduates (58.6%), 5 Medicine graduates (17.3%). Emotional attention =26.59; emotional clarity =30.13; emotional repair =31.55. Emotional exhaustion =11.59; depersonalization =1.82; personal accomplishment =38.69. It is concluded that the EI level of the population surveyed in this study is adequate, highlighting the dimension of emotional repair as the most positive and emotional perception as the least positive. Regarding BO, the majority have a low level, with personal accomplishment being the dimension with the most room for improvement.
