Economista especializado en los problemas del subdesarrollo es uno de los primeros en sugerir que no existen fases lineales de desarrollo. Hay similaridades y diferencias entre pases subdesarrollados y las fases histricas de pases desarrollados, pero es posible encontrar "atajos".
