RESUMEN

La letra de cambio en Cuba, institución que encuentra sus basamentos teóricos en el Derecho Mercantil, posee los conceptos y principios que conforman la teoría y los procedimientos que a nivel internacional existen para regular el tratamiento jurídico de esta materia y regulaciones jurídicas bien concebidas a través de leyes especiales o en otras normativas donde es regulada, es entonces que acorde a los momentos actuales en que Cuba, insertada en procesos de integración con países de América y de otras latitudes, tiene la modificación de la legislación en relación a la letra de cambio y demás títulos valores.

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo fundamental Diagnosticar las principales insuficiencias que presentan las normas vigentes en Cuba que regulan la letra de cambio y los problemas que se presentan en la práctica jurídica entorno a su aplicación.

Los métodos de la investigación empleados han sido análisis dialéctico, análisis-síntesis, inducción-deducción, análisis exegético-jurídico de las normas, observación de documentos, análisis histórico jurídico de las normas y el análisis comparado de las normas.

La investigación presenta como resultado un diagnóstico del estado actual de la legislación cubana en relación a las normas que regulan la utilización de la letra de cambio y la novedad científica de esta radica en recomendaciones para el perfeccionamiento de la normativa jurídica sobre la letra de cambio en Cuba.
