RESUMEN
El objetivo de este artículo fue caracterizar la intervención profesional del Trabajador Social frente a los estereotipos de género en los estudiantes de primer nivel de la carrera de Trabajo Social de la Facultad de Ciencias Humanísticas y Sociales de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí. En el proceso de la investigación se utilizó un estudio de tipo descriptivo, exploratorio, apoyado en el método bibliográfico, utilizando como instrumento la guía de encuesta. Se tomó como muestra a 117 estudiantes de primer nivel en los paralelos A, B y C. Los resultados evidenciaron la relevancia de la intervención del Trabajador Social frente a la problemática social, actuando como un agente de cambio que busca el bienestar y la igualdad social entre las personas, centrando su accionar en la revitalización y animación de un contexto social, utilizando recursos existentes en la búsqueda de capacidades y habilidades del ser humano.

ABSTRACT.                                                                                                       
The objective of this article was to characterize the professional intervention of the Social Worker against gender stereotypes in the first level students of the Social Work career of the Faculty of Humanistic and Social Sciences of the Technical University of Manabí. In the research process, a descriptive, exploratory study was used, based on the bibliographic method, using the survey guide as an instrument. A sample of 117 first level students in parallels A, B and C was taken. The results showed the relevance of the Social Worker intervention in the face of social problems, acting as an agent of change that seeks welfare and social equality. among people, focusing their actions on the revitalization and animation of a social context, using existing resources in the search for human being's abilities and skills.
