Lawrence R. Klein este un economist nordamerican ce a obtinut Premiul Nobel in Economie in 1980 pentru crearea de modele economterice si aplicarea fluctuatiilor economice si politicilor economice in cadrul analizei.

Nascut in Omaha, Nebraska, a studiat la Universitatea din California si si-a luat doctoratul la  Massachussetts Institute of Technology. A fost docent al universitatilor din Michigan (1949-54), Oxford (1954-58) si Pennsylvania. A lucrat pentru Cowles Commission (1944-1947). Este specialist in econometrie, statistica, cicluri economice, comert international si integrare economica.
