Dear Professor Peláez:
You were kind enough to invite me to contribute to a monograph entitled Papers in Public Law and Public Historical Law. When I received the letter, I was not sure whether I would have the time to work on an essay, having two projetcts to complete by the month of June. I did not want to promise what I could not fulfill. However, since the beginning of June, I have been able to devote my time to a topic which I hope will be pertinent to the publication.
Since I assume many of the readers of the publication will be European, I have cited Maritain’s writings in the original language of publication, French for the most part. In several instances, I have used the English versions. I hope this will be satisfactory.
Again, I realize that the notification is somewhat late, but at least the submission should be in before the final date for the reception of originals.
My thanks for the invitation and I wish you every success with the publication.
Yours sincerely,

[Nº 198] Carta de Claudio Schwarzenberg, catedrático de Historia del Derecho Italiano, a Manuel J. Peláez
Roma, 28 de julio de 1988
Querido colega, prof.
